Sleep Inducing Design

Before & After had a design assignment, for a book cover that would put a person to sleep, not a common request of a designer I would think.

You can view the entries at the link below, and the ones with a red dot in the corner have some great often very harsh criticism. The red dot ones are interesting to read, very informative and a few talk about type and/or type setting.

What font do you think is the most peaceful and likely to induce sleep? and what typographic characteristics do you think add to this feeling?

haha these are sweet. i think i would like to look at the Big Bags one.

as far as sleep inducing type, what ever fonts they use for textbooks (for instance, the art history book ugharghgghhhgggaaaa) should do quite nicely. something lame and times new roman-y. i ALWAYS fell asleep when i was trying to read that thing. but it could be the content, and not the typeface at all.

or maybe there is some sort of link between content and font choice. like different combinations would have different effects on your mood, feelings, energy level etc.

start thinking about that. that will blow your mind.
