Henry Ford Museum / Greenfield Village

From a recent visit to the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village in Dearborn, there was an awful exhibition on furniture throughout the centuries. Of course I didn't take photos of the furniture on display, but I took photos of the signage the the Museum put up.
... I think they could have done better then this!!

What flavor moveable type are you?

I prefer milk chocolate, you can order the moveable type to say what every you want. There are some more cool photos at the website but good luck reading it.

Chocolate Moveable Type

I love the logo above I 'feel' it is a great blend of a logo image and type, I guess that is what its always about.

You Are Beautiful.

This movement actually doesn't have anything to do with typography directly. But it is a movement of positive self-realization through daily life through type.

Check it out. You are beautiful.

well this is from the website that steve just posted. i found it last week but i wasn't invited to the blog yet, so now i probably just look like a tool. it happens.

anyway, i think this is pretty awesome. the artist's website has some
questionable materials on it, but obviously i am just highlighting the typographic aspect.

Sans Seriff comeback?

My mom is so sick of hearing about serifs vs. sans serifs (I told her now that I'm in this industry it's important for her to know the difference). I'm constantly shoving menus in her face and pointing out signs and going on and on about the type. I know that sans serifs are very legible and have their place in signs and advertising, but seriously, what ever happened to the serif?! After seeing sans everywhere all the time, they are swiftly losing their beauty. I think it's time the serif made a comeback. Opinions?

I Am Blog

Welcome to the Kendall College of Art + Design Typography 3 blog Fall 2008.

To assist in the open exhange of information and ideas about current trends in typography to be discussed, there is a blog. In this online environment we will share findings, thoughts, beliefs, questions, disgusts, and general commentary on contemporary issues in typography.

Each week, one student is required to present one new topic for discussion. If you are not posting a new subject, you are required to comment to the latest post.

New posts must be published by 6p on Fridays.
Comments must be published by 6p on Mondays.
Short discussions on posts and comments will be held in class on Wednesdays.

Enjoy.
